Estate Planning

Protecting an estate during life and after it, for the people it is meant for.

Two kinds of planning

Estate planning puts the right documents and arrangements in place to protect what you have built. Bloodline planning looks after your estate after death; lifetime planning protects it while you are alive.

Our estate management service is bespoke: trusts, gifting, family planning and multi-family office arrangements, built around your family.

Your first meeting with us is free and without obligation.

Bloodline planning

Wills and trusts, deeds of severance or conveyance, probate, and deeds of variation.

Lifetime planning

Inheritance tax planning, care home fee planning and lasting powers of attorney. Lasting powers of attorney are not only for older clients; many of our estate planning clients have them in place.

Wills

A will avoids the complications of dying without one. It lets you name guardians for young children, appoint executors, record your funeral and medical donation wishes, and set out specific legacies.

Trusts

A trust protects wealth. It can preserve assets for future generations and reduce inheritance tax across generations, guard against the effects of divorce, guide trustees through a letter of wishes, and provide for grandchildren not yet born. Assets placed in trust may fall outside your estate if you survive seven years.

Care home fees

Care is becoming more expensive and is often needed for longer. We help you plan so that your savings are not used up by care home fees.

Four questions to ask yourself

Do you have a will? Do you know your inheritance tax liability? Do you expect to receive an inheritance? Do you have life insurance? If any answer is no, or you are not sure, it is worth a conversation.
